The 2014-15 Leadership Corvallis program “Human Services Day” in December again was fantastic, thanks to an enthusiastic class and a dedicated group of presenters and facilitators.
The program included an overview of the human services assets in the community, as well as challenges in that area to meet the needs of community members who need some form of assistance. Thanks to presenters Holly Berry, Poverty Simulation; Aleita Hass-Holcombe, Corvallis Daytime Drip In Center; Christopher Quaka, Community Outreach, Inc.; Cybil Stockman, Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence; Gina Vee, Corvallis Housing First; Kelly Raze, Furniture Share; Sheila O’Keefe, South Corvallis Food Bank; Clare Cady, Human Services Resource Center at Oregon State University; Jasper Smith, Benton County Developmental Disabilities Program; and Jim Moorefield, Willamette Neighborhood Housing Services.
Corvallis-Benton County Public Library served as the host location for the day’s activities, which were organized and planned by day facilitators Pete Bober, Kenny Lowe, Lexie Merrill, Jennifer Moore of the United Way of Benton and Lincoln Counties and Gerry Perrone.
The effort of those who contribute to the Leadership Corvallis program – which develops current and future leaders to make a positive impact on the future of our community – is appreciated greatly.
